Get ready for a huge usability update—especially for users with a lot of sites. We heard your feedback; it’s difficult to scroll through your organization when you have dozens of sites. With this update, you’ll see an Overview button at the top of your list; tap to get a birds-eye view of your organization. Take inventory of your devices. Check if any are offline. Get where you’re going in a fraction of the time!
We also moved several features into the View Options menu, so now you can customize the look of your feed all in one place—or switch your view altogether, to your map or floor plans.
Finally, we combined Camera Details and Camera Settings into one view. It’s just simpler that way, don’t you think?
Keep bringing us your feedback, and we’ll keep working to make Command Mobile even better!

I slammed the door of my cybertruck and popped in my AirPods. Silence.
“What happened to my podcast?” my voice echoed in the garage. Not a great sound. “Podcast?” I repeated. Nothing.
I found Joohae in the kitchen, microwaving popcorn. “Podcast?” I greeted him, brandishing my useless left AirPod.
He nodded sympathetically. “No podcasts right now—the internet is out.”
My chest tightened. We’re unsafe! “D-does that mean our cameras are offline?” I whirled around to face the door, my back to the wall. Anyone could be out there. They took out our internet.
“Yeah the cameras are offline, but they’re still recording,” Joohae said. “Also we just released a new feature where you can browse the images it captured before going down. I’m checking the cameras for clues. Check this out.”
He handed me a phone with the latest Verkada Command app. One of our exterior cameras spotted a cybertruck in the distance, headed straight for a telephone pole. I scrolled through the images. The cybertruck moved closer and closer, and then it was gone—and the telephone pole with it. “Pretty sure that’s the culprit,” Joohae said.
“That could be anybody’s cybertruck,” I muttered. At that moment, my podcast burst back to life in my right ear. The internet was back.
Joohae peered closer at his phone, now playing live video—even higher quality in the new version of Command. “Dude, have you been recording your podcast while driving again?”
“What? How would someone even… so unsafe…”
He tapped the screen twice, zooming in. Through the windshield, I recognized my pro recording setup and my face, softly illuminated by a ring light.
“Distracted driving is a crime. You’re lucky nobody was hurt,” said Joohae.
“I know. I have a problem.” I looked down at the popcorn scattered on the floor. “You won’t tell anyone, will you?”
“Nah man,” Joohae said reassuringly. “Just don’t write a confession into the release notes and you should be fine.”
“Totally. I’m sure you fixed some bugs and made some performance improvements, right? I’ll just write that.”
“Sounds good. Also maybe stop walking around the office listening to your own podcast…” Joohae started, but my AirPods were back in my ears and I was gone.

The phone cried out like a watchdog with a marimba voicebox. It was an alert from my Verkada Sensors; my PM 2.5 levels were off the charts. It was time to get up anyway. With its new Sensor Alert Scheduling, the Command App knew better than to bug me before 7 AM. The night shift was over, and by the look of those sensor readings, my office was probably on fire. After rearranging my first floor cameras, I noticed everything near the kitchen looked smoky.
I needed a closer look, but last night some jerk misplaced my glasses on the bathroom floor. Maybe try the iPad, I thought; these days, Command was looking better than ever on that big screen. That did the trick. In the haze stood a blurry figure—it was Joohae, one of our top engineers, trying to extinguish a smoking bag of microwave popcorn. Rather than judge my friend’s breakfast choices, I decided to steal a few more winks. I downloaded the sensor data for my records and collapsed back into my pillow.

My cybertruck squealed into the parking garage at 7:06 AM. Half-shaven and baggy-eyed, I gulped down my energy drink—a little dose of caffeine, guarana, and courage. TAP! TAP! A shadowy figure was knocking his phone against my window. My eyes adjusted and I recognized Joohae, one of our top engineers, showing me the Verkada Command App on his phone screen. I rolled down the window.
“What’s up Joohae?”
Slowly, Joohae rotated his phone. The interface disappeared, leaving nothing but fullscreen video. “You figured out rotate-to-fullscreen?” Joohae nodded and smiled. “It works?”
“Yep,” said Joohae.
It was our customers' most requested feature, and it was ready to ship. Not a bad start to the day. I stumbled out of the car and wondered when the guarana would kick in. “Joohae, you’ve done it again—,” I began. The garage was empty. Where was Joohae? Where was my car? Why was the ground covered in spilled popcorn?

If your organization has any Verkada Sensors, they’ll appear in your app with this update! Now it’s easier than ever to set up, customize, and view your environmental sensor readings.
* Get an alert when a sensor reading passes a certain level
* Customize your list of sensor readings to keep up on the readings you most care about. This will also be reflected on the home view.
* Connect your sensor to a camera to give you the full story behind your sensor readings
We also simplified the device installation flow, and made it easier to edit multiple devices simultaneously. So if you want to move a bunch of devices to a different site, just tap the (Edit Devices) button on your home screen, select all the devices to edit, and make your changes.

The Command experience just got a major upgrade with the new Org Status!
Org Search
Now, you can easily search your entire organization and even upload a group photo to see who’s been spotted on your cameras.
Camera Status
From conversations with customers, we learned many people scroll through their feeds to check for offline cameras. Now, with a quick glance at
Org Status, you’ll know if any cameras are offline, and you can tap to find out which cameras went offline and when.
People of Interest and Notable Events
When a suspect appears on camera, or one of your devices has been messed with, you’ll know immediately.
Sites
Get a quick glance at your sites, organized by activity level. So if you’re looking for the action, you’ll know which sites to look at first.
Profiles
Give individuals names and mark them as a Person of Interest, and you can get an alert when they next appear. You can even browse all their appearances in a combined video feed with our Cross-Camera Player—it’s like a montage (inspirational music not included).
But that’s not all…
We also made some great usability enhancements throughout the app, creating more room for your content and clarifying what all those icons actually mean. No more guessing!
We also gave your Camera Details a shot in the arm, with graphs of motion data, camera status, and bandwidth used.
Whew. This is a big update. I’m going to go eat dinner. See you soon!
